On Sunday, March 28th at 10AM Rick Gill’s memorial service will take place at Padaro Lane, Santa Claus Beach, in Carpinteria.
Also there’s a paddle out from Rick’s office on Santa Claus Lane.
Later there’s a barbecue at 12PM, Lyons Park in Carpinteria.
Lyons Park is located just 1/2 mile before where the Sunday ride turns onto Gobernador Canyon Rd on Highway 192

Los Angeles Police Department Chief Charlie Beck told a group of bicycle advocates that department-wide training would be implemented to highlight the rights of bicyclists on the road and ensure that officers know how to deal with incidents involving bikes.

On Feb. 20, meet at Goleta Beach at 9 am and roll out at 10 am with Tom Ritchie, founder of Project Rwanda, and crew to raise awareness and funds for Project Rwanda. Suggested ride donation is $25 — the funds go to provide bicycles, tools, and technical support for coffee farmers in Rwanda. First 150 registrants will receive an event t-shirt. The Ride
The route will take riders inland from Goleta Beach along the beautiful Santa Barbara Bike Path. After approximately 4 miles, we will hang a right up Puente and hit the dirt at More Mesa. After cruising along the bluffs and taking in a view of the Channel Islands, we will head down to Patterson to reconnect with the bike path and make our way back to Goleta Beach. Approximate distance: 9 miles.
Ride Schedule
Saturday, February 20th
9:00 AM- Meet in the Goleta Beach parking lot for
refreshments and registration.
10:00 – Roll out with Tom Ritchey and the crew.
12:00 – Return to Goleta Beach.
